School is out in less than 48 hours. It's currently 45 degrees out. And windy. And cloudy. And cooooooold. I'm not going to complain because lawdy, it's keeping my hooligans under control. If it was sunny and 85 outside, we'd have mutiny.
Here's what else has been goin' on up in here:
++ I've been grading resumes. This is my favorite resume skill ever, ever, ever. (Sidenote: I really thought ford cliff driving was a real thing. I thought it was man speak for something super complicated. Spoiler: It's not.)
++ The Arachnophobia House still doesn't disappoint. This afternoon, I pulled toilet paper off the roll and a spider leapt at me. I wish "leapt" was an exaggeration. He had some distance. For about three seconds. Then he met his Spidey Maker.
++ Graduation happened. The General weathered it like a seasoned pro. He played with his friend Livi and together, they made it through with no meltdowns. (Sidenote: Anyone have advice on what happens when your kid throws. the. eff. down in Dillard's? Tantrums are not that much fun, you guys. Not that much fun at all.)
++ I love how every Stay At Home Mom right now is making "summer fun lists" for things they want to do all summer with their perfect kids, and Tuck and I are over here practically panting at the thought of two more days of the hot mess morning show we roll through every day. Poor kid has bandaids on both big toes, scraped and bruised knees, a black and blue ear from the daycare dining room table, and a scraped heel. He's got diaper rash, he's sad about having to wake up at five thirty every morning, and I think he's actually going to lose his shit with me if I tell him one more mother loving time that he cannot take his bat to daycare (not to hit kids, of course, but he likes to hit every. other. thing.).
++ RM Drake every time, lovies. Every time.
++ Wayfair is launching a new campaign called #mysleepstyle and they've asked me to join. So later this week? Look for a $50 gift card giveaway to Wayfair and the low-down on how I get The General to sleep. My Tribe and I were just hashing out this discussion last week - how do you get your toddler to sleep through the night? Bestie Bets is struggling with her daughter, sometimes Tuck wakes up at 3 a.m. and doesn't go back to bed unless he's in bed with me, and another friend of mine has a daughter that doesn't go down until ten p.m. ...Even though they start rocking at 7. So what parental sleep advice do you have?
Okay. That's it. Pray for my sanity. Tomorrow is the last student day. When seventh period rolls around, kids start eyeing me like they're about to make some crazy decisions.
PS - You wanna see some funny stuff? Here's what we did today during the last breakfast. Because if you can't have fun at work, then what are you even doing?
. About Moi .
I love, love, love flannel sheets and I am really passionate about lists on post it notes and most of the time I'm sad that no one else is as excited as I am about Diet Mountain Dew. I also adore run-on sentences.
